Who Is Jesus?

Jesus can be found within the scriptures of the Holy Bible. In its pages, we see His journey, His characteristics, and the purpose for His presence.

Who is Jesus in relation to God?

Jesus is God.

He wasn’t just a messenger who came to talk about God — He is God in human form, a physical manifestation of God the Spirit.

Jesus came to live on earth in the flesh, as a human, so that He could understand our plights and give us the best care.

He came face to face with our struggles, yet remained untouched by them. His holiness is the everlasting demonstration of how we are called to live.

Ultimately, His purpose was to lead us to Himself —

Because living with God is the best thing we could ever do for ourselves.

Jesus wants us to experience His guidance and His love.

In Him, we are not just learning about God as an abstract concept; we are experiencing God personally.

Jesus is a gift to us.

Jesus is our gift because He was sent to be the bridge between us and God. Before Jesus came for us, people could not speak to God freely.

Instead, there was an appointed person who would enter a holy place once a year to bring the people’s prayers and sacrifices before God.

In those days, people offered animal sacrifices as a way to be forgiven. But those sacrifices had to be repeated again and again, year after year.

Jesus changed everything. He came to be the final sacrifice — the atonement for our sin — by dying on the cross. His death paid the price we never could and released us from the old system of repeated offerings. Because of this, the barrier between us and God was removed.

Now, through Jesus, we have free and constant access to God. We can pray at any time, in any place, knowing that He hears us. And this gift isn’t limited — Jesus is available to every person, no matter who they are or what they’ve done.

Jesus is the most powerful resource we have.

We may not be able to do it all — but Jesus can. You call on the name of Jesus, and He shows up for you. He can rearrange circumstances, attitudes, and people’s hearts. He is able to grant us exceptions to every rule. He holds all power — nothing and no one has the authority to stand in God’s way.

Jesus is a wonderful God — He cares about us deeply, and wants our interaction; He constantly waits for our call so that He can provide for us in ways that we cannot provide for ourselves.

We are unable to see all the details of our circumstances. We do not know what the future holds — But God does. God knows everything, and He is never wrong.

Jesus, our savior, the one who lost everything for us — He loves us. He wants us to ask Him for help. He wants to show up for us. And He will — We just have to ask Him first.

Jesus is not unmannerly. He will never force Himself on us, but He will become our greatest force when we invite Him in — the most powerful resource we will ever have.

Jesus is our savior.

Yes, He died on the cross for our sins. Yes, He bore the consequences for our iniquities. Through Him, we are forgiven and gifted eternal life with Him.

But He is so much more than our savior unto salvation. He is our savior from pain. He rescues us from the strongholds of trauma, He heals our hearts and our steps, enabling us to walk with renewed minds into a deep peace that we would never be able to achieve on our own.

Jesus is the light at the end of the tunnel, except He’s even better than that. He is a light through the tunnel. He comes with us; wherever we are, there He is also.

Jesus is our savior — not only of our souls, but of our daily lives. He saves us again and again, in every moment we invite Him in.

Jesus is the name above all names.

The name of Jesus is unlike any other. It carries authority, hope, and life. When we call on His name, we are reaching for the power of God to help us in our distress.

When we pray, we say, “In Jesus’ name, Amen.” Amen means “so be it” — it seals our requests in faith, trusting God to fulfill them according to His will. Even a simple cry of, “Jesus, help me. Amen,” is powerful, because He comes when we call Him.

Through His name, we are given authority to stand against everything that is not of God. Disturbances, fears, and spiritual darkness cannot remain when the name of Jesus is declared in rebuke against them. His name is a weapon of protection and victory, cutting through the darkness and bringing light wherever it is called upon.

There is no higher authority, no greater power, and no stronger hope. Jesus is the name above all names.
