Art Concepts: Envisioning 3 Realities
Trauma, Truth, Transformation
My work is not created as isolated pieces, but as ongoing series rooted in specific ideas — realities that shape how we live, suffer, believe, and heal. These concepts are ongoingly explored, as they deeply represent my lived experiences. Trauma, Truth, and Transformation are realities I have all been confronted with, and the degree to which I accepted each one played a role in the magnitude and pace of my healing.
Trauma
My trauma-themed art represents the inner chaos of PTSD — how it is experienced in the body, the mind, and how it emerges through behavior. These works reflect the uncontrollable nature of trauma: the disorientation, the reactivity, and the internal disorder that can shape how a person moves through the world. It is a visual representation of what it feels like to be struck and altered by forces beyond one’s control.
Truth
Truth stands strong, unchanging, and steady. This body of work is made up of scripture-inspired signs, visual interpretations of biblical passages, and images shaped by how I encounter and understand Scripture. These works are not meant to reinterpret Truth, but to point toward it — offering visual reminders of what stands firm, speaks clearly, and has the power to heal beyond what we can imagine.
Transformation
Transformation explores what becomes possible when the weight of trauma is lifted and peace is allowed to exist. Rather than depicting reality as it is, this work envisions reality as it might be — an inner world no longer governed by fear, reactivity, or expectation. It reflects a mind at rest and a life shaped by calm, wonder, and the possibility of living freely with God.
